The Partnership Across Languages
(PAL) invites you to participate in an ongoing dialog about
teaching and learning second languages in Southern Arizona.
Partnership Across Languages welcomes your participation
and comments. You are encouraged to examine the Web site
topics, share in the communication of ideas, and participate
in projects and planning at any level which is comfortable
for you. The steering committee meets on a monthly basis
in the Transitional Office Building (TOB) on the UA campus.
Meetings are scheduled at 5:00 pm during a weekday. The
day of the meeting changes month to month in order to accommodate
those educators who might have to teach an evening class.
2009 Southern Arizona Language Fair Dedicated to Cele Peterson

Partnership Across Languages (PAL), in celebration of Cele Peterson’s 100th birthday, is pleased to honor this Tucson icon for her ardent and continuous support of world languages. Her love of different cultures inspired her to start K.I.N. (Kids’ International Neighborhood), an organization to help children build intercultural communication skills. Cele has been a long time advocate of the Language Fair. She was instrumental in having a promotional DVD of the Fair created for distribution to world language teachers and also helped promote the Fair on her weekly radio show “The Star of the Week.” Cele’s innovative spirit and uncompromised loyalty to the Tucson community have recently earned her an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree.
